The story behind the 2014 Commonwealth Games

In November 2007, Glasgow was chosen to be the host city for the 2014 Commonwealth Games. The staff at Glasgow Life worked tirelessly for the next seven years to ensure the Games were a huge success. How do you thank all of your employees for their hard work, as well as letting the entire company know how each of the departments contributed towards delivering the Games?

We designed and wrote a commemorative 2014 Commonwealth Games magazine which was given to every member of staff as a keepsake.

It was important for us to capture people’s personal stories about the journey they went on to make the Games happen. In order to do this we set up camp at Glasgow Life and interviewed key department members, as well as teams across the company.

The end result is a remarkable account of the trials, tribulations and triumphs of the staff all the way from the start of the Bid to the end of the 2014 Games. It’s more than a commemorative publication; it’s history in the making.
